I remember that I used to have a talking dictionary program installed on my old computer, but it always required the CD to “talk.” There are not many dictionary programs out there that can pronounce words and the ones that can are usually not free. As the title suggests, there is a solution for you. WordWeb (free version) is a small program that will provide you with definitions and synonyms on demand. You can choose to install it in the system tray to have it run in the background for on demand access (Ctrl + Right-Click) or you can install it like any other application and run it when needed. It loads fast and uses the built-in speech engine to pronounce the words. I use it and I like it.
