Back in the Loo
A toilet in Britain is called a loo, but Waterloo is referred as the Loo as well. Water just doesn’t sound right as an abbreviation. So here I am for my first Spring term. My work term has been completed and now it’s time to play study hard. I moved in last night, got everything in place and this morning, the first thing I did was call ResNet to get internet working. I felt like I was missing a lot without an internet connection, haha. I am considering Bell’s High Speed service, but with a monthly payment, I don’t know if I can handle that. Here’s what I plan on doing today:
Eat breakfast, knock on my don’s door, meet my don, buy some used books, buy some new books, buy a notebook, and go to Sobeys with the suite mates. LCBO is nearby as well. It seems like a quiet place, but things are just getting started. I’ve got a full schedule of courses on Tuesday and Thursday, so expect to see zero blog entries on those days.

You can contact me by phone: Wait… this is public internet. Nevermind. Contact me by email in the About page.
Oh, I also got a hair cut yesterday and it’s really short now, the hairdresser was rushing to finish because there were eight people waiting. And I got PERT Plus shampoo that I’m allergic to. I think I’m going to try it and see if I’m still allergic. If I am, my skin will start shedding and I’ll have to use shampoo samples. Send me some shampoo samples if you have any.
I just ran a speed test to see if ResNet has improved over the year.
Here are the results:
Download Speed: 3841 kbps (480.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 1714 kbps (214.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
It sucks! My cable connection at home can reach that download speed, but the upload is good. It’s early in the morning and half the people who are moving in aren’t in yet. Once it’s saturated, it’s GG (good game, which an opposing team or player uses at the end of the game for those who don’t know) to my connection speed. Take some time to understand what GG means because I’ll be using it more often. I hope to be on the first page of Google search when the keyword GG is entered. When searching for Puissance, I’m already on the second page! That is good. So GG basically means “too bad” and I’ll use it in a few sentences.
OMG, you download at 1000 KB/s, you GGed (pronounced gee geeed) my crappy internet connection.
I beat you by a mile, GG.
GG to me, my alarm clock didn’t go off and I was late for class.
Shoot, I have to eat breakfast now, it’s getting late.
