Circadian Rhythm Reset
Lectures end in a few days, which means that I will have no classes to go to. It’s one of my favourite periods in the school term because it requires time management. I have begun swimming more often and have decided to reset my circadian rhythm.
I was indeed successful. Currently, I am awake with a bowl of cereal in front of me and it’s a little past 6 AM. I got my 8 hours of sleep and it’s still dark, but I can see the sky beginning to brighten.
Here is why I reseted my circadian rhythm:
- Get to watch sunrise
- Maximize the use of sunlight (makes you happier)
- Get to eat breakfast (my favourite meal of the day)
- More productive time because it’s quiet
- Prepare for working hours (once my school term ends)
- It’s a healthy habit
To establish a proper rhythm, I enforced a rule: the computer must be off after 9 PM unless there is a serious urgency for its use, such as submitting an assignment. With no computer, I’ve got nothing to waste my time on. Last night, I reviewed my notes and went to sleep. That felt really good.
If you want to do the same, you need to eliminate your time waster, too.
